BC Ferries is reworking the schedules for three of its routes in light of expected staff shortages in the coming months.
BC Ferries is reworking sailing schedules on three of its routes as it expects continued staff shortages in the coming months and aims to provide reliable service.
Between January 28 and February 28, routes from Departure Bay (Nanaimo) to Horseshoe Bay, Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and Earl’s Cove to Saltery Bay will be affected.
The total number of round trips will not change, BC Ferries said Thursday.
Customers with reservations on the affected crossings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay will have their reservations moved to the next available crossing.
Those with reservations on sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale will have their reservations moved to the new departure time.
“Our team is working hard to process these schedule changes and contacting customers in chronological order as quickly as possible,” the company said.
Customers with affected reservations who wish to change or rebook can call the Customer Service Center at 1-888-223-3779 ext zero.
BC Ferries has been struggling with crew shortages for several months.
