ICT-based court management systems are on track

Clerk of the Supreme and National Court, Ian Augerea is confident and very satisfied with the progress of the modernization of our two superior court information management systems by 2022.

In an interview with the Post-Courier, Mr Augerea said: “The Constitution states that the courts are ‘courts of archives’ and that the Supreme Court and the National Court are ‘superior courts of archives’.

The judicial administration of the judiciary is based on judicial archives which provide the information necessary for the exercise of justice.

The quality of justice that is administered and the efficiency with which it is delivered depend on the existence of a number of essential elements of which an effective judicial information management system is a part.

It is the courts themselves, through court registries, to determine how court processes and procedures are to be entered, recorded and processed in order to be made available to judges and court users for effective decision-making. .

“Thus, the modern ICT-based court case management system has become an essential and important tool for us in securing and handling effective dissemination of court information in the future. “
His other main tasks for next year are:
– A refocused service for registrars and court users;
– A modernized operational registry system;
– Better organizational and professional development; and
– A solid partnership and the participation of stakeholders.

He also wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2022.
