Over a month ago, the Galaxy S20 series started receiving the August 2022 security update. This, however, was only for the international variants of the phone. Now, carrier-locked US models of the Galaxy S20 series have started receiving the August security patch.
Carrier-locked versions of Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra get new updates with firmware release G98xUSQU3FVH1. It brings the August 2022 security patch which fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities, improves device stability and fixes some general bugs in the software.
If you are a Galaxy S20 series user in the US with a carrier-locked version, you can now download and install the new update on your device by going to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in early 2021 with Android 10 on board. Phones received One UI 3 update based on Android 11 in early 2021 and One UI 4 update based on Android 12 in late 2021. Devices are expected to receive One UI 5 update based on Android 13 more late this year.
