MANILA, Philippines – 2GO Sea Solutions, a dominant player in domestic freight transport in the Philippines, is stepping up efforts to improve supply chain efficiency.
It is also strengthening its presence in the central and southern regions.
The company has extended its port coverage to include the town of Tagbilaran in Bohol with weekly services and with additional frequencies to Davao and General Santos which have been doubled from twice a month to weekly calls via Iloilo.
2GO vice president and head of Sea Solutions Dan Fernan said during the pandemic, the company has pivoted its operations to ensure reliable sailing schedules despite the restrictions.
He also added the frequency of travel.
âBy reorganizing our routes and schedules, we have introduced additional reliability and travel frequency into our freight operations through day-defined departures,â said Fernan.
He said 2GO is now in a strong position to deliver speed for faster delivery times to enable customers to improve supply chains, lower inventory costs and increase responsiveness. of the market.
This is especially necessary for the country’s commerce and trade as the local economy reopens more.
âThe company recently optimized its Ro-Ro Passenger Ship Route (ROPAX) network to ensure same-day sailing schedules, while expanding its freight services to Visayas and Mindanao to ensure an unhindered flow of essential cargo within regions amid the pandemic, âFernan said.
Currently, consumer goods (FMCG) and essential supplies, such as food, pharmaceuticals and liquids, are transported from Manila to Visayas and Mindanao four times a week.
This is done through the main freight hubs in Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod and Cagayan de Oro.
